NAMI
National Alliance on Mental Illness

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. NAMI was established nationally, in 1979, for mental health clients and their families as a self-help organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy to anyone affected by persistent biologically based brain disorders or mental illnesses. There are over 220,000 NAMI members nationwide with 1,200 affiliate organizations throughout the nation.
NAMI Montgomery County Ohio (NAMI-MC), founded in 1988, is an affiliate of NAMI Ohio. The state coalition represents an important link in efforts to improve the quality of life for those with mental illness by implementing and integrating services and policies determined at the state level. NAMI-MC is dedicated to improving the lives of family members, friends and persons with mental illness through education, outreach, referral, support and advocacy.

ADAMHS
ADAMHS Montgomery County

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) of Montgomery County is responsible for the planning, funding, and monitoring of public mental health and addiction treatment services for individuals and families of Montgomery County, Ohio. Under Ohio law, the ADAMHS Board is one of 50 Boards coordinating the public behavioral health and addiction treatment and recovery system in Ohio.
The Board is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and has the legal responsibility and authority for the provision of mental health and addiction treatment services. Montgomery County ADAMHS contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist consumers and clients on the road to recovery.
